After almost an year and a half of frustration and disappointment, things are finally looking up for me with watercolor. I am almost entirely self-taught in art, most of my learning coming from books, videos and a ton of sweat and tears a.k.a practice. Days like today, it is nice to know that all that effort was worth it and that things are finally on an upwrd trajectory. 

I did a painting today from a photograph. I was mainly interested in the light and shadow in the photo and that is what I tried to capture here.  

I am not in love with the style, I would have personally liked it to be sketchier, but I am happy with the technique.
