I was watching Liz Steel's Edges videos tonight and wanted to try out a quick food sketch of my dinner tonight - potatoes cooked with mustard seeds and white rice. It is a challenging subject because there isn't a whole lot going on in terms of shapes. It is mostly color and texture. Also, I wanted to use some pen lines so I chose to work in my S&B alpha sketchbook, which doesn't take too many layers of watercolors.
I enjoyed playing with cropping and lettering. It was a good exercise in making an interesting composition out of a simple 10 min sketch.
That is all I have time for tonight but I have some interesting sketching adventure planned for tomorrow, so hold tight!
